Intro: Jeff Zhao

Hey friends. Early last year, Zubair came up with the idea to write a UChicago Ultimate blog, so that alumni and senior members of the team would have a medium through which they could pass down some of the knowledge and wisdom they've gained over the years. I thought that that was a great idea, and now that the new school year is on the horizon, it's as good a time as any to get this thing rolling.

For those of you who don't know me, my name's Jeff, and I graduated this past year (2018). I joined Junk as a freshman, and during my junior and senior years, I served as one of the team's four captains. Outside of UChicago, I've played club for Machine as a practice player in 2016 and Beachfront Property (RIP) in 2017. I'm moving to Seattle in a couple weeks where I'll (hopefully) play my fifth year at the University of Washington.

I'm not entirely sure what the content of this blog will end up being, but the general idea I have for it right now (for my own posts, at least) is a place for me to dump some of my thoughts regarding captaining/running a team, offensive & defensive strategies, training routines, and other miscellaneous frisbee-related stuff. Hopefully once this blog is a little more fleshed out, it will kind of resemble a college ultimate season, i.e. there are posts about recruitment in the fall, planning for the winter tournament in Jan/Feb, how to ramp up for the series in March, etc. It'll probably end up being a lot sloppier and more disorganized than that, but who knows. We'll see what happens.
